On Sunday I posted on my Facebook page some local cost-of-living and income data I got from an AI inquiry, as a conversation starter.
I said in the post, “This isn’t an in-depth analysis, just a quick look, but what do we make of this?” and got quite a bit of feedback, including a correction from a friend at the Great Falls Development Alliance on the AI provided local income data, which was $46,965 for Great Falls.
Here’s the more accurate numbers as relayed to me from my friend at GFDA, who messaged me this: “We have access to data sets through Chmura Economics and I pulled some numbers this morning. The median household income in the Great Falls, MT MSA (Cascade County) is $66,203.”
While we’re talking about data, here’s some info on comparative residential water utility rates among Montana cities.

The bottom two rows on this chart represent and Great Falls current combined water/sewer rates and the two proposed increased rates options which are on Tuesday night’s City Commission meeting agenda
You can find the agenda packet with all of the pertinent data for Tuesday’s meeting here.
