Great Falls mayoral candidate Jasmine Taylor continues her run of wackiness and dumbness in a recent video posted on her candidate Facebook page.
Taylor’s economic philosophy in her own words, repeated at least 3 times in the minute-and-a-half video: “Seize the means of production.”
The phrase “seize the means of production” originates from Marxist theory, particularly the writings and ideas of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in the 19th century.
Let’s just call it what it is – a communist is running for mayor of Great Falls.
Even more bizarre and completely out-of-touch with the majority of folks who live and work in Great Falls is the following diatribe she spews in the video:
“Things like healthcare, housing, food, internet, education; all of that, all of that should be base level provided for us. All of that should be base level provided for us.” – Jasmine Taylor
Who do you suppose Ms. Taylor intends to make provide “all of that” for “us” here in Great Falls?
Let’s recount what Taylor’s platform for mayor is so far:
- She wants to defund the police. And if you’re not white or straight then you need to be protected FROM the police.
- She doesn’t have enough respect for the American flag, the American people, or the many active duty military and veterans in Great Falls to stand and say the Pledge Allegiance at public events and meetings.
- She’s a Marxist.
Honestly, anyone who donated money to Taylor’s campaign should demand a refund because she knows she’s not going to be elected mayor of Great Falls. At this point, it’s obvious that she’s just a narcissist running a scam campaign, selfishly seeking attention.
I saw today this report about a store that sounds like what Jasmine is referring in her rant.

Watch and then tell us if the means of production were seized.
