They say all politics is local, which may not be entirely true because national politics certainly impacts those of us who live in Montana, but when national politics becomes so hateful in local people it becomes more painful and disturbing, because those people commenting on national issues are those we live with and work with in Great Falls.
These comments on the assassination of Charlie Kirk have magnified ugliness on our local social media platforms. When this ugliness and ignorance is displayed by those who teach out children and those who work in our local businesses it is imperative that we speak out against them.
These sycophants of the liberal left repeat inaccurate and inflammatory comments made by some of our national kooky sources.
The two individuals referenced below obviously and literally think that they are more intellectual than 99% of the Great Falls population – I reject that. I wouldn’t even call them pseudo-intellectuals because they are beneath that level and they shouldn’t be teaching our children or working in our local businesses.
If you agree, you can call the school district and North 40 Outfitters. You can even choose not to do business with or support these entities, the choice is yours.

Amy Harrell is a science teacher at East Middle School in Great Falls. Below is a screenshot of a comment Harrell made in the comment section of a Facebook post from Great Falls mayor Cory Reeves on September 10th about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
It’s very troubling to think that this person is teaching kids at East Middle School. Her comments were subsequently deleted, either by her or by Mayor Reeves.

Even more troubling is the following FB post from an employee of North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, Montana.
A Facebook reader who saw the post, which has now also apparently been deleted by Mans, posted this about Mans’ disturbing comments: “I am compelled to report and condemn the hateful behavior exhibited by your employee, Trina Mans, which I deem absolutely unacceptable, especially given the company’s involvement in the sale of guns and ammo. North 40 Outfitters is proud to have this person represent their company. They even took down my post so here are the screen shots.”

And here is one commenter’s observation:
“North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls is locally owned. She works in their corporate office. She dared me to call them, even gave me the phone number, 406-761-6623 and the owners names, Wayne Wilke and Chuck Schmidt. I called the phone number and asked if this is a person they want representing them. They didn’t seem to care. I need more people to PLEASE call as well.”
Absolutely uncalled for in this city. These people need to be fired from their jobs and put on the un -hirable list.
I cannot imagine anyone condoning this type of behavior and to be in a teaching position. or anything related to children is horrible.
That’s stupid, to fire someone for their own opinion on Charlie Kirk. Not everyone liked him, just the dumb ones .
So what you are tyring to tell us is that you would like this person teaching your kids how to hate and kill other people just because you don’t like them.
You are the problem.
Really?
People who represent a company gas to be careful of their social opinions. She should be fired! Boycott the the company!
I belief both should be gone, period. If North Forty doesn’t care what their hateful, ugly employee says, I will not shop there, ever again!! A teacher who choses to speak out the way this one did makes me very concerned about what she is saying and teaching to our impressionable young minds! Hatred and venomous rhetoric is unacceptable!
Here is something to think about, or food for thought. I remember reading someone who mentioned a warning to us. This warning actually came quite a while ago, even before anyone alive on Earth now was born. This person warned that a time, a day, or generation would distort truth. He said that there would come a time when people would distort the facts so much, that they would call evil good, and good evil, putting dark before light and even bitter before sweet. This person was quite wise, and gifted in his analogies. So, is this what we are seeing today? I know the answer, but I will leave it up to you to come to your own conclusions, as we all have that ability in us.
Well said
It’s important to recognize that Amy Harrell, like anyone else, has a right to express her opinions on a political page without facing threats to her job or livelihood. Calling out someone for expressing a viewpoint while simultaneously encouraging people to contact her employer or discourage patronage of businesses she’s affiliated with is not only intimidating—it’s hypocritical.
We cannot demand civility and respect while using public shaming and professional pressure to silence someone we disagree with. Healthy discourse means tolerating differing opinions, even when they make us uncomfortable, rather than targeting individuals personally or professionally for what they say online.
It seems to me that yes, we have free speech. But then there needs to be consequences for that speech. So, if you want to say what you want, then be willing to accept the pushback or fallout from it. Which is nothing new. That has been happening for a while now.
So, it’s free speech for me and not for thee? If there were consequences for “free speech” half of the podcasters in the country should be yanked off the air for just their comments on women alone. So, Pastor Stan and Pastor Dan never taught me to ruin the financial and employment life of a retail worker or 7th grade science teacher who disagrees with me. Will it make you feel better if you get these people fired? Then what? The problem here is this, the worm will eventually turn and what you put out is perhaps what can come back at you. Squashing dissent is unamerican. Let’s run this back to 2010-2014 and see how it all turns out if we run it through “if Obama had” Time Machine . We fought a entire war and hundreds of thousands of men and women died because someone thought they could bully their way across the world stating that only HIS view matters and only the way he saw his country and the people in it matters. Dehumanizing people is not the way. Don’t like the comments? Don’t read them. Don’t like someone? Don’t insert yourself in their life? Don’t like vaccines? Don’t get one. Don’t like what you read, don’t read it. Just remember, how you feel right now is how hundreds of people who have had the loved ones taken by gun violence feel EVERYDAY yet, we were told there is just nothing that can be done and if memory serves there was even podcasters saying that these events DIDN’T EVEN happen yet those folks remained on the air, free to denigrate families at will. Why? Because we still have the first amendment in this country and it applies to ALL, not just the party in power for now..

We all sign it.
I was thinking about bringing this up. The code of conduct that businesses have and such.
Do you believe that Amy Harrell violated the Educator’s Code of Ethics?
I was good friends with Trina Mans at one point (so I thought) until 1 day she messaged me and told me she was ganna unfriend me because I was posting that I was a Trump supporter.
So sad, Trina wasn’t sad about what happened to Charlie Kirk for what he believed in and stood up for. And that he was killed for it. But she doesn’t have the courage to do the same. And would she think it would be OK if someone took her out because of her views. I don’t think so. By North 40 condoning this type of public speech, they are actually agreeing and allowing it. It will only give power to more people who are this angry and looking for something to lash out at. All choices should have consequences. You should be ready to take the consequence for your choice.
We have to keep in mind that are all sinners, & few will see heaven. Not my opinion, but according to the Bible.
Charlie knew what it took to get to heaven. From what I hear, he got that message across to thousands of young people.
I am non partisan, but those I love are both dem & repub. For me personally, some of the extreme speech is very concerning! Especially from those in healthcare and at schools. I personally know a girl who works for the Great Falls Clinic on 30th & 15th, who said all republicans are evil, racist, etc. and deserve to die. I seriously fear for my loved ones on both sides. Of all places medical facilities and teachers should be a safe space for both dem&repub! It’s sad to see the way things are. People being killed, families fighting, teachers shaming and failing students. I could go on because of politics. My heart genuinely aches for what society has become!
Reading the article and through all the comments I wonder where is the compassion? There are times it is best to leave comments unsaid.
I am sharing a video of the Vigil of Unity for Charlie Kirk that took place today, Friday September 19, 2025 on the Utah Valley University campus. The whole campus family: administrators, professors, students, all who work on the campus plus the families and reaching out into the community are in shock and pain. Maybe it would be wise to stop before writing the tirades and take a long look in the mirror and think how “you, in the mirror” would feel if this was in your family, your communities, hopefully, it would be compassion.

Speech is free from GOVERNMENT retribution, not from the private sector. The GOVERNMENT can not punish you, but your employer, neighbors , family and friends can hold you responsible for your hateful reaction to a father and husband being assassinated
You posted this as I was getting ready to as well. The 1st says that the government cannot deter speech. However, like you said, any other entity, public or private, can set terms and conditions. Thank you a lesson on the Constitution, which was signed 238 years ago on September 17th.
Well said, SOME poeple just need to dail it down. Thank God the true majority still can show compassion and understanding of others.
These are employees’ personal thoughts. They have every right to share their opinions on their personal pages. It’s laughable that you think N40 and the school district should fire employees for what they put on their FB pages. I also notice how you are collecting names so you can go after anyone who stands up against this witch hunt.
Alissa, You lose the argument. Amy posted her vile comment on Great Falls Mayor Cory Reeves’ Facebook page. Why didn’t she post it on her own page? Do think that the school district monitors employees social media?
I wonder where this all would be without the internet egging it on.
People need to start asking themselves.
“Would I say this to the person’s face”
Without anyone else to hear it and no one to witness the repercussions.
The world was a better place.
I remember a very wise man once said that if you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem. So by standing by and saying nothing or doing nothing that makes you the latter. Or do I read you wrong?
I know the owners of North 40 well, and I know they don’t support hate and they believe the best in all people. Just because one of their employees posted something, doesn’t mean the company represents or agrees in what was posted. Please, continue to support your local N40! They are truly a company built on integrity. Pease forgive and pray for everyone- even those who voice their true hearts on social media. . This too, shall pass.
Hate has no home here…unless you are a white conservative christian
DEFINITION OF A FOOL
A simple one or a fool is not someone with mental deficiency but someone with a character deficiency (such as rebellion, laziness, or anger) The fool is not stupid, but he or she is unable to tell right from wrong or good from bad!
What can do, they’re always going to be out there somewhere.. Got to feel sorry for them, and particularly where they are heading 😉
With the additional help from E City Beat’s blog, I understand more fully that free speech is considered a widely reaching and acceptable interpretation in the school district by many. Many in the school district and many others believe that free speech should not result in any consequences whatsoever, no matter what is said.
Therefore, to avoid penalties or negative consequences if used in the classroom or in public, I ask the school district and/or others to express pre-approval and acceptance for the following free speech comments if taught in the classroom, expressed in public by an employee of the school district, or expressed by an employee of a private business.
• George Washington was a weak scared scrawny childlike figure who should not be respected by anybody. He should be considered shallow and afraid rather than be considered an important founding Father of the United States. The country would be far better had he been killed at Valley Forge.
• Abraham Lincoln deserved to be assassinated because he hated the slaves and ruined our Republic.
• This country would be so much better had the Confederates won the Civil War. Whereas the slaves would preferably still be picking cotton without any rights or citizenship.
• Martin Luther King was an unimportant racist and deserved to be assassinated because he did not stand for the rights of any people.
• John F. Kennedy had no merit and was not legally elected. He deserved to be assassinated because he was an unintelligent mafia criminal with a very ugly wife.
• Robert Kennedy should have been slain before he had any children because he unfortunately left behind a selfish self-centered atheist Nazi hypocrite who should not have survived birth.
