E-City Beat recently received a photo of Great Falls Mayor candidate Jasmine Taylor holding a half-full weed pipe and lighter – apparently this photo has been making the rounds on social media.

That Taylor is a weed user is not too surprising, recreational marijuana use is legal and there are adults in Great Falls who partake. Taylor seems unconcerned that local voters know about her weed use, here’s a post from one of her campaign Facebook pages:

On October 20 at 7:00 PM the Great Falls Alliance for Youth is co-sponsoring, along with Neighborhood Council 5, a Great Falls municipal candidates forum, which Taylor will presumably attend.
Alliance for Youth states the following on their Facebook page, “Alliance for Youth, through strong stakeholder partnerships, continues to champion prevention and reduction of underage drinking and illegal drug use, abuse and dependency as well as youth engagement in a myriad of other health comprising behaviors.”
With that mission in mind, maybe the Alliance for Youth representative should ask Taylor and the other candidates the following questions at their forum:
- Do you think it’s responsible for civic leaders to give young people in Great Falls the impression that marijuana use is healthy and appropriate behavior?
- Do you think marijuana is a gateway drug?
- Do you support random drug testing, including for marijuana, for City and other public employees who operate work vehicles and equipment?
- Do you think an elected City official who publicly uses, condones, or promotes the use of marijuana reflects the values of a majority of Great Falls citizens?
She won’t get my vote!
No way No how…
